ACI Scholarly Blog Index is participating in the Vendor Showcase. Come visit us, see a demo of this new resource, or schedule a trial. The Index, an editorially selected and curated collection of scholarly blogs written by leading academics and researchers worldwide now includes more than 11,000 blogs and over two million blog posts covering all academic subject areas. Larry Schwartz, President of the ACI Information Group, Aura Novembre, Vice President, ACI Information Group, and Pat Sabosik, General Manager of the ACI Scholarly Blog Index will all be at the Vendor Showcase. ACI will be at Table #26, Mezzanine level, Carolina Ballroom at the Francis Marion Hotel, from 10:30am to 5:30pm.
ACI Information Group has published a new booklet of scholarly blogs to showcase the depth of scholarship included in the collection. For this year’s conference, the ACI Annual Blog Review: Science 2016 and ACI Annual Blog Review: Law 2016 will be featured along with ongoing demonstrations of the ACI Scholarly Blog Index database.
Scholarly bloggers and librarians talk about blogging and the changing face of research at a panel discussion “Why We Blog” Reshaping Research, Captivating Tales from Academic Bloggers, moderated by Pat Sabosik, the General Manager of ACI, Thursday, November 3rd at 3:35pm at the Galliard Center, Salon II.
ACI Scholarly Blog Index authors, leading academics in their field, talk about why they blog and the value and importance blogging plays in their academic role and scholarly communication. Blogging and microblogging enable new forms of interaction between authors and their readers. Scholarly blogs are part of the solution and an aid to reshaping approaches to research. Panelists share background stories and insights on academic blogging. Observations and comments from a research librarian round out the discussion.

Larry Schwartz, president of ACI Information Group, will participate in a panel discussion, “Librarians, Publishers, and Aggregators, The New Collaborators” Thursday, November 3rd at 11:35am at the Courtyard Marriott, Cypress Ballroom South.

Larry and Pat will also coach the presenters in the Fast Pitch Competition, helping the participants to highlight the value of their innovative library projects to a panel of experts.
