ACI Information Group is pleased to announce that the ACI Scholarly Blog Index has won a 2017 Modern Library Platinum Award for product excellence as voted by the library community. The Modern Library Awards (MLAs) are an annual program recognizing innovative products and services for the library community. MLAs are a program of Library Works, and LibraryWorks.com is the librarian’s online portal to library product news and information. A special issue of Library Product News covering the high-scoring participants will be released on January 10, 2017, prior to the American Library Association’s Mid-Winter Conference and Exhibition.
“ACI Scholarly Blog Index is pleased to add the Modern Library Award to our list of awards and recommended reviews in the library press. The acknowledgement of ACI’s value as a research database and a scholarly blog discovery service is rewarding and confirms our commitment to continue to provide authoritative and credentialed social media—scholarly blogs to the academic market” said Larry Schwartz, President of ACI Information Group.
The ACI Scholarly Blog Index, an editorially selected and curated collection of scholarly blogs written by leading academics and researchers worldwide, now includes more than 11,000 blogs and over two million blog posts covering all academic subject areas. ACI Scholarly Blog Index has also been selected as one of Choice’s Outstanding Academic Titles for 2016.
All blogs indexed in ACI Scholarly Blog Index are individually curated by researchers with expertise in that blog’s topic or field of study, giving students, faculty, and librarians access to the highest-quality content available in selected scholarly blogs which are credentialed and authoritative social media. From citation and export options to tools for bookmarks, lists, and features for sharing & collaborations, librarians are using ACI to help their online researchers find quality academic and research blogs.
The Modern Library Awards (MLAs) were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry in an unbiased way. Products and services are submitted in the fall and posted on a private site which includes product description and supporting materials. Product information is sent to the Library Works readership database of more than 80,000 librarians. Only customers with experience with the submitted products and services in their libraries are permitted to judge, resulting in an unbiased score.
