The ACI Information Group will be exhibiting the ACI Scholarly Blog Index in booth 308 at the 2016 Electronic Resources & Libraries Conference from April 4-5, 2016, in Austin, Texas. ER&L’s mission is to support information professionals in issues related to electronic resources and managing collections in a digital environment, and the ACI team look forward to showing librarians how ACI’s scholarly blog discovery service, robust search engine, and metadata-enhanced index will be a powerful, innovative, and budget-friendly addition to their electronic resource collections.

For the past five years, more than 50% of ER&L attendees have been librarians who specialize in electronic resources, serials, or collection development or management. With positive reviews of the ACI Scholarly Blog Index from The Information Advisor’s Guide to Internet Research and the Art Libraries Society of North America, the conference will be a great opportunity for librarians to find out why other librarians are recommending ACI. In addition, ACI partners with agencies librarians know and trust: select ACI posts in five subject categories are featured each month in ALA’s Choice Reviews tablet edition, ACI content is available in common discovery services like ProQuest SummonEBSCO Discovery Service, and OCLC WorldCat, and subscriptions are available through such trusted library agencies and consortiums as LYRASIS, SCELC, WALDO, and MOBIUS.

“The Index is very user friendly, with a clean, uncluttered design… Enhancements such as Bookmarks, Lists, and ACI Stream allow users to save and access relevant materials every time they log in. Searches yield fruitful results, benefiting authors and readers symbiotically. The layout of the search results encourages users to turn a query into a fulfilling pilgrimage for more resources.”
Lora Farrell, Art Libraries Society of North America Review

Blogs indexed in ACI are individually curated by researchers with expertise in that blog’s topic or field of study, giving students, faculty, and librarians access to the highest-quality content available in today’s scholarly blogs – with enhanced tools and integrations (like support for RefWorks, EndNote, Zotero, and other platforms you already use) that empower online research in colleges, universities, and other research institutions. From citation and export options to tools for bookmarks, lists, and features for sharing & collaborations, librarians are using ACI to help their online researchers find quality academic and research blogs.

“We really liked the Scholarly Blog Index. The concept itself is a good one—curating and filtering the most credible blogs and online news sites. The product itself is intuitive, clear, has a very appealing interface, and offers a very useful — and innovative — set of search filters for narrowing down broad searches. The Scholarly Blog Index is a solid product for researchers…”
Robert Berkman, Information Today Managing Editor, Information Advisor’s Review

As the world’s only scholarly blog discovery service, the ACI Scholarly Blog Index was designed for students, faculty, and other serious researchers. If you’re attending ER&L, stop by booth 308 and let Pat, Aura, or Traci show you why students, faculty, and librarians across the world are using ACI’s robust search engine, metadata-enhanced index, and workflow tools to empower their scholarly blog research.
